This will be the last post in the Media(ry) series of blogs following the ENGL3065 Rhetoric of Social Media course. The course is done. It’s been great. For me, this class has provided the instruction I was looking for and a lot that went beyond it. I really appreciated the opportunity to read scholarly as well as industry sources about social media and I learned a lot. I look forward to digging a little deeper into some of the platforms on my own time and, possibly, at my new job with Gardner Business Media as assistant editor(!). |
The projects helped me nail down a lot of what I was learning, especially the blogs and the final proposal project. In the proposal, I ended up pulling numbers and info from way back in the beginning of class and really tied everything together. For me, the blogs were a good place to reflect on the readings and this was good because the class’s shorter format (compared to its debut last year) preempted a good deal of discussion that I would have valued a lot. The blogs produced here will probably be a resource that I dip back into going forward.
And yes, I’m graduating, so going forward means working as a “professional.” I definitely believe I’ll be able to put the knowledge I’ve gained here to work and grow it even more.
This is Jedd signing off...
